Your Privacy at ZIQR

ZIQR collects only what it needs to deliver the publication to you, and never sells your personal information.

ZIQR is an independent publication founded and edited by Arman Dharani and hosted on Substack. Substack operates the platform, processes payments, and manages most technical data. Its handling of your information is described in Substack’s Privacy Policy. This policy explains what ZIQR itself can see and how it uses that information.

What ZIQR Collects and Why

ZIQR collects a small amount of information, each for a clear purpose:

• Your email address and name, collected when you subscribe, so ZIQR can send you new posts and occasional updates.

• Your subscription status, provided through Substack, so paid subscribers can access their content.

• Your comments and replies, so they can be displayed publicly and the community can be moderated.

• Messages you send, so ZIQR can respond to you.

• Reading statistics, provided in aggregate through Substack analytics, to understand which writing resonates.

ZIQR does not see or store your payment card details. Payments are handled entirely by Substack and Stripe.

Sharing and Third Parties

ZIQR does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your information is shared only:

• With Substack and Stripe, which operate the platform and payments

• When required by law or to protect the safety and rights of others

• With your consent, such as when you ask to be featured or quoted

Substack uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, deliver content, and measure readership. You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Links to outside websites follow those sites’ own privacy practices.

Your Choices

You are always in control of your information. You can:

• Unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email

• Update or delete your account through your Substack settings

• Delete your own comments

• Ask ZIQR what information it holds about you, or ask for it to be removed

Data Retention

ZIQR keeps your information only as long as you are subscribed or as needed to serve you. Once you unsubscribe or request deletion, your information is removed from ZIQR’s subscriber list, except where it must be kept by law.

Children

ZIQR is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to This Policy

ZIQR may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version.
